Successful Weekend
Hi all
Very successful weekend!! Started Friday riding, taking donations and raising awareness at Stream International for 4 hours. I would like to thank my wife Lisa Allen, CFO member Ingrid Baldin and Site Director Kim McCann for helping setup and allowing me to ride in the lobby. Hope it got everyone all excided for the inside ride, which you guys are involved in on March 29 at the Sears Warehouse.
Saturday’s riding at Sears Retail in the Quinte Mall was fun and exciding. I had Mike Kelly, who rode along with me, and Karen Sweet, who sang and played guitar while we rode for 4 hours. We started back in the fitness section of the store, but we were not getting too much exposure. So Mike Derushie the store manager decided to move us to the entrance of the store where we got an excellent response and more exposure.
We also have to thank Valerie Macdonald who sponsored us by matching $1 to every KM we road; which was in total 247 km in 4 hours.
I would like to give a special thank you to Karen Sweet for donating her time and talent. Her excellent singing and quitar playing kept us going all day along with bringing a crowd to see what it was all about. She can be contacted at (613) 394-5159 or email little.trucker@hotmail.com if you are looking for entertainment or any event.
I would also extend a sincere thank you to Mike Derushie, John Wells and Jennifer Heaton for let us come into the store and ride again. Your continued support in this endeavor is appreciated more than you can ever know.
A special thank you to my good friend Mike Kelly, for the excellent effort he put into the ride and his continued encouragement. He road 120 km. Longest distance he has done in 20 years!!!!
